July 2nd the weather when we arrived was a little rainy, the river was running over 1400 CFS. The water was a little muddy and hard to fish from shore, but did pull out some nice fish average size from 15-20 inches we used BWO's, Egg sucking leeches, and stone fly patterns. The fish were along the shore lines in the grassy areas. There were lots of people on the river floating because of the fourth of July weekend. We also tried our luck at Saratoga lake and no luck, we could see the fish but no bites, they did show some interest in crawfish patterns. The weather got warmer but there was rain all around us so the river kept fluctuating in rising and falling and how muddy it was. So we went to Hog Park and fished there and had a wonderful time. Caught lots of fish average size about 13 inches we used the same flies that we used on the river and just nailed them. When we left on July 10th the weather was warm and the river had come down to 900 CFS.
As a warning to anyone staying in the cabins the bees are pretty bad inside and outside of the cabins so bring lots of wasp spray, also the mosquitoes were really bad to, be sure to bring spray with lots of deet in it.
Fish On :-)
